Airtel 3G will now cost you less. The telecom operator has announced new 3G tariffs for its Prepaid and Postpaid subscribers.

Airtel has announced some really interesting 3G Plans, for instance its Prepaid customers can now pay Rs. 10 to enjoy 30 minutes of 3G services, valid for a day. Also it has reduced the default 3G rates from 10p/10KB to 3p/10KB, that's cool.

Bharti Airtel interested in buying 26% stake in Qualcomm’s India 4G venture

According to sources in the telecom industry Bharti Airtel which became the first Indian Operator to successfully roll out its 4G services in Kolkata and Bengaluru is in talks with Qualcomm India to buy the company's 26% stake for Airtel’s 4G broadband venture.
It was previously rumoured that Airtel was in talks with Qualcomm for the 26% stake that is currently held by Global Holding Corp and Tulip Telecom for about $58 million, but the talks were put on hold as the grant of 4G license to Qualcomm went into a dispute with the Telecom Ministry.
Axis Bank joins Airtel to offer financial services on your mobile phones

Airtel’s mCommerce Services Limited has tied up with Axis Bank for extending banking and payment services to Indian subscribers via the mobile platform. The partnership is basically to focus on providing customers with banking and financial services on their mobile phones.


Thanks to this partnership, a new no-frills savings account of Axis Bank will be opened for customers on the Airtel Money platform called ‘airtel money Super Account powered by Axis Bank’ offering customers banking transactions including cash deposit, money transfer and withdrawal.

Airtel has been given the best quality mobile network provider award at the National Telecom Awards held at New Delhi. Airtel is now one of the world's fifth largest telecoms company by subscribers and has operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa.


The Communication, Multimedia and Infrastructure Association of India (CMAI) had recognized it as a winner in the categories of Star News Viewers Choice Best Mobile Network and Best Quality Mobile Network Service Provider at the 6th edition of National Telecom Awards 2012. The CMAI granted award to Airtel on the basis of public votes gathered in a survey conducted by ZipDial and Star News.

After announcing the rollout of 4G LTE network in India, Airtel has announced a new 4G plan for its customers in Kolkata. The Break Free Ultimate plan is for heavy and offers 30GB priced at Rs. 2,999.


Customers can avail this plan on both pre-paid and post-paid. While the cost pre-paid is same, post-paid customers will have to pay additional tax.

Airtel, after launching its 4G services in Kolkata, has today launched its 4G services in Bengaluru. Bengaluru will be the second city to be blessed with the latest spectrum in India after Kolkata.

As part of an introductory offer by Airtel, customers subscribing to 4G services will now be given a cashback for the CPE / dongle which will reduce the cost for consumers to adapt to the new 4G LTE services. Airtel 4G will also be available in a new 30GB pack priced at Rs. 2999.

Back on April 10 this year, Airtel became the first Indian operator to launch its 4G LTE based services for its users starting with the Kolkata telecom circle.
At that time Airtel’s deputy CEO, Mr Sanjay Kapoor had in a conversation with us said that its next destination would be the city of Bengaluru, and the service will be launched within 30 days from then. Now keeping on the word, on May 7, 2012 Airtel is planning to launch the 4G LTE services in Bengaluru.

Huawei has been partners with Airtel in Sri Lanka & part of Bangladesh and is also the 3G provider in the state of Karnataka & Tamil Nadu and now Airtel’s 4G LTE network is going to be aided by Huawei as it is based on its TD LTE technology. The new 4G network will be providing high speed wireless internet access at super fast speeds and with wider bandwidth.
