Airtel recently announced launch of its Unlimited Local and National SMS Packs for its Postpaid and Prepaid customers to stay in competition with Reliance Mobile and Vodafone. Though Airtel comes nowhere near to Reliance Mobile's Unlimited SMS Packs in terms of pricing. Also, Unlike Reliance, Airtel do not offer free SMSes on customary/festival days (Blackout days).Postpaid Airtel Customers Airtel Postpaid subscribers will have to shell out Rs. 99 (excluding taxes) to get Unlimited (500/day) Local and National SMSes for a month. Airtel today announced the launch of Unlimited Chat and Email service over BlackBerry phones just at Rs.99 per month. This new rate is applicable only for new Airtel BlackBerry subscribers. As a promotional offer, the monthly service charge of Rs.99 is for first 6 months from the date of activation and after 6 months the regular BlackBerry plan charge of Rs.299 per month will be applicable.
Airtel today announced the launch of its mobile applications store - Airtel App Central. Now, Airtel mobile customers can transform their basic phone into a Smart Phone by accessing over 1250 Apps across 25 categories for their business, games, books, social networking and other needs. Offering an easy single click purchase – with no credit card required – the cost is automatically added to the customer’s mobile bill or deducted from the available talk-time. Starting as low as Rs. 5, Airtel App Central will offer local and regional Apps for customers across the length and breadth of the country.
Airtel has announced the launch of Unlimited Sunday on the occasion of Valentine’s Day for its 2.9 million Fixed Line customers across the country.
Airtel today announced the launch of India’s first ever Family Tunes service for its Fixed Line customers across the country. Airtel’s Family Tunes will provide its Fixed Line customers another Call Management service by offering a pre-recorded Welcome Message customized to the customer’s individual Family Name to greet callers instead of the conventional tone. A library of more than 1000 most common Indian Family Names will be available for customers to choose from.
From past many months TATA DOCOMO is trying to give Airtel tough time but it seems that Airtel has now responded. Airtel has come up with TIMED SMS features (It will allow to schedule your SMS at future date and time). This service is somewhat similar to what TATA DOCOMO is offering.
