Airtel offers Unlimited SMS

Airtel recently announced launch of its Unlimited Local and National SMS Packs for its Postpaid and Prepaid customers to stay in competition with Reliance Mobile and Vodafone. Though Airtel comes nowhere near to Reliance Mobile's Unlimited SMS Packs in terms of pricing. Also, Unlike Reliance, Airtel do not offer free SMSes on customary/festival days (Blackout days).

Airtel Postpaid subscribers will have to shell out Rs. 99 (excluding taxes) to get Unlimited (500/day) Local and National SMSes for a month. Add a comment

Airtel today announced the launch of Unlimited Chat and Email service over BlackBerry phones just at Rs.99 per month. This new rate is applicable only for new Airtel BlackBerry subscribers. As a promotional offer, the monthly service charge of Rs.99 is for first 6 months from the date of activation and after 6 months the regular BlackBerry plan charge of Rs.299 per month will be applicable.

The Data usage is restricted to Email and Messengers data. Internet browsing is not available with this plan. To subscriber the service Airtel postpaid customers can send SMS <take99> to 543210.The offer is valid till 19th February 2010. Add a comment

Airtel today announced the launch of its mobile applications store - Airtel App Central. Now, Airtel mobile customers can transform their basic phone into a Smart Phone by accessing over 1250 Apps across 25 categories for their business, games, books, social networking and other needs. Offering an easy single click purchase – with no credit card required – the cost is automatically added to the customer’s mobile bill or deducted from the available talk-time. Airtel has announced the launch of Unlimited Sunday on the occasion of Valentine’s Day for its 2.9 million Fixed Line customers across the country.

Airtel’s Unlimited Sunday will offer its Fixed Line customers unlimited free Local and STD calls to other Airtel Fixed Line numbers on the three Sundays during the Valentine fortnight. The Unlimited Sunday offer will be available on - February 7, February 14 and February 21 . Add a comment

Airtel launches Family Tunes on Fixed Line

Airtel today announced the launch of India’s first ever Family Tunes service for its Fixed Line customers across the country. Airtel’s Family Tunes will provide its Fixed Line customers another Call Management service by offering a pre-recorded Welcome Message customized to the customer’s individual Family Name to greet callers instead of the conventional tone. A library of more than 1000 most common Indian Family Names will be available for customers to choose from.

Announcing this, Mr. Vikas Singh, Chief Marketing Officer–Telemedia Services, Bharti Airtel said, “For most homes today in the country, the Fixed Line remains irreplaceable as the family phone, distinct from the personal mobile phones of each member of the family. From past many months TATA DOCOMO is trying to give Airtel tough time but it seems that Airtel has now responded. Airtel has come up with TIMED SMS features (It will allow to schedule your SMS at future date and time). This service is somewhat similar to what TATA DOCOMO is offering. (Remember Sanjay Bafna's Guide - TATA DOCOMO Timed SMS)

Airtel is offering this service at a much lower rate than what TATA DOCOMO is offering. Airtel charges Re. 1/SMS while TATA DOCOMO charges Rs. 3/SMS.

To send SMS at future date and time, you need to follow the following format i.e. Recipient's mobile number <98XXXXXXXX> Date <DDMM> Time <HHMM> <YOUR Message> to 52233. E.g.9810098100 0801 0000 Happy Birthday. Add a comment

Just a day after Mobigyaan, published the news about the stoppage of Rs.24 and Rs.67 sms packs in Maharashtra and Goa(You can read the details of the news published here),Airtel has relaunched these two schemes without making any changes.

There was a complaint made in Airtel gallery regarding the sudden closure of this scheme by none other than me and I got the call from a senior team leader of Airtel Mr.Verma on 14th January within 24 hours of registration of my complaint. Add a comment

Airtel withdraws Rs.24 and Rs.67 SMS PACKS from Maharashtra & Goa

In the era of launch of new schemes and offers every other day,there exists a provider-Airtel which coincidentally happens to be India's No.1 mobile provider,has discontinued the two sms packs which were launched just before couple of days. (You can read the details of these 2 packs here). Both the 24 and 67 Rs sms packs gave subscriber the freedom to send 500 sms/day for 10 and 30 days respectively.Subscribers were not even notified before the closure of this scheme and those who are recharging with Rs.24 and 67 are not getting any error message while recharging.Subscribers are not getting any benefits of the above said packs and their money is also wasted as the recharge gateway is still not closed.
