Aircel,a joint venture between Maxis Communications Berhad of Malaysia and Sindya Securities & Investments Private Limited has been aggressive since its launch in Maharashtra circle offering local calls as low as 25 paise/min and providing GPRS access for as low as 98 rs/month.Now Aircel has come up with "Pay Per Second" billing scheme for its prepaid customers making it even more easier to stay in touch with near and dear ones across india for as low as 1 paise/sec without any extra pack.To subscribe to this scheme user has to dial 123 and select option "6" in the IVR.The said scheme will be activated in next 12 hours without any activation charges.
User can also activate this plan by doing an e-recharge of 1 rs or sending "SECOND" to 53382 without the quotes.

Tariff:-
- All local calls @ 1 paise/sec
- All STD calls @ 1 paise/sec limited to 10,000 seconds per month after which the user will be charged 2 paise/sec for making STD calls.

This is a very clever move by Aircel as Tata Docomo and BSNL are the only providers providing Per Second Billing in Maharashtra.BSNL charging hefty amount to avail this facility so the main competition is between Docomo and Aircel when it comes to per second billing.Go for this scheme if u r already with Aircel.

Aircel has re-launched its RC21 which used to offer all local calls @ 75 paise,50 paise & 25 paise for first,second and third minute respectively and all STD calls @ 75 paise/min with a validity of 3 months.Now RC21 offers all local and STD calls @ 50 paise/min after the first minute priced @ 1 rs and 1.50 rs/min respectively per day for both local and STD.Local and national SMS are priced @ 50 paise/160 characters after spending 1 rs and 1.5 rs/day for local and national respectively.
This voucher has a validity of 3 months but the validity is of 5 months for subscribers taking new connection.
We Say:- There is nothing extraordinary in this scheme.Infact the previous RC21 was better as atleast the local call rates were as low as 25 paise from the 3rd minute of the call.

Aircel has recently introduced "My Aircel" application. It can be downloaded on your mobile handset (Symbian or java supported). This application provides you the ease of navigation and one touch access to various services provided by AIRCEL like portals, VAS Numbers, Social networking sites (like Twitter, Face-book), Customer Care helpline etc. There is no subscription charge for this application, however you’ll be required to pay the browsing charges as per your current pocket internet browsing rates i.e 10p/ 10KB. Pls note if you’ve recharged your mobile with PI-98 or PI-14 coupon then the browsing charges will not apply.
To start downloading of this application:
- Step 1: Pls send an SMS “My AIRCEL” to 580007 (toll free from Aircel mobile in home network).
- Step 2: You will get an SMS which will have the link to download the application

Aircel on Monday announced the launch of its GSM mobile services in Pune. With a subscriber base of over 20 million, Aircel, the fifth largest service provider, extended its services to the city after having rolled out its 17th circle with Mumbai.Gurdeep Singh, chief operating officer, Aircel said, “We are proud to be here in Pune and present to our customers a national brand with a strong local connect. We will be introducing products and services uniquely tailored to meet the needs of our Pune consumers. To reward high usage in a simple manner, there is an inbuilt reduction in tariff on all local calls wherein the first minute is @Re1, the second minute@50p and third minute onwards @30p.”
“With mobile penetration of around 82 per cent in Pune, there are a lot of segment-based needs that an operator can fulfill for better consumer satisfaction,” he said.

We say:- This tariff suits someone having huge outgoing usage/day.The call rates drop as low as 30 paise/min for any local call from the 3rd minute so a user talking for more than 3 minutes has a lot to save by using Aircel.
The addon packs are also interesting and offers cutdown on both local,std and ISD tariff including one sms pack which gives local and national sms free for a month.
Drawback:- The 30 paise/min call rates after the 3rd minute should have been for the rest of the day instead of call by call basis making it easy for the subscriber to talk to any local mobile for a flat rate of 30 paise/min after the initial 2 minutes for the rest of the day.
Go for it if u wanna try something new and if ur calling usage is high!!!
