Aircel launches GSM mobile services in Gujarat

From today one more Mobile Operator will fight for share of GSM subscribers of Gujarat. Gujarat already has 8 GSM Mobile Operators and the newest addition to this list is Aircel. Gujarat is the 22nd Telecom Circle where now Aircel is present. There are Ads of Aircel in today's edition of leading newspapers of Gujarat, however we were unsure about it launch in entire Gujarat of only few selected city so we contacted Aircel's Corporate Communications Head - Ms. Shalini Sethi, she informed us that "Aircel is present in all of Gujarat". We expect that competition in GSM space in Gujarat will get fierce with Aircel's launch in the state as Aircel is more established Telecom operator than the other operators which recently launched their services in Gujarat.

The On-net tariff war is heating up the mobile space these days as we have seen operators like Tata Docomo, Uninor launch free On-net calling schemes in Maharashtra. Aircel has come up with a truly unlimited plan for On-net calling which is priced at Rs.77 and valid for 30 days. Before you get too excited, here is the catch, free calling benefit is only applicable to any TWO aircel numbers of Maharashtra and Goa (including Mumbai). However we can change the numbers as many times we want within the validity of the pack. Number selection will be charged at Rs.7 per number( max two numbers).

Aircel has taken an Initiative as part of its social responsibility to reach out to the people during heavy rains and help them sail to their destination.

As part of this Initiative Aircel has put up a boat on a hoarding at strategic places where there is water logging and excessive flooding during the rains, thereby causing a lot of chaos and inconvenience to the commuters and pedestrians who get stranded for hours in anticipation for help to come by.

Aircel today officialy launched its GSM mobile services in Haryana. We earlier reported about Aircel's presence in some of the cities in Haryana. With this launch now Aircel is present in 20 Telecom circles in India.

Aircel has introduced an inbuilt tariff on STD calls wherein the first minute is @ 75p, and the second minute onwards @ 50p. Also, Aircel offers On-net STD @ 50p per minute.

Mr. Gurdeep Singh, Chief Operating Officer, Aircel said, “We are proud to be here in Haryana and present to our customers a National Brand with a strong local connect. We will be introducing products and services uniquely tailored to meet the special needs of our Haryana consumers. To reward high usage in a simple manner there is an inbuilt reduction in tariff on all local calls wherein the first minute is @60p, the second minute@50p and third minute onwards it is @40p. The Haryana launch augments the next phase of our Pan India roll-out.”

Aircel today announced the launch of its GSM mobile services in MP & Chhattisgarh. Aircel is now present in 19 telecom circles.

Aircel launched its services in Haryana. The company is planning to expand its network in coming months throughout Haryana. As of now the company has launched its prepaid services only. The Sim Kits are available at selected outlets in Yamunanagar, Ambala, Karnal, Kurukshetra and Chhachhrauli cities for Rs 49, under this a customer will get 0 talktime and lifetime validity.

The company comes out with two per second First Recharge option priced at 43 and 93 which will have talktime of 10 and 20 respectively. With the help of first recharge the customer can enjoy the benefits of al local calls at 1p/sec and std calls at 2p/sec. As a promotional offer all std calls will be charged at 1p/sec.

Aircel & ibibo.com introduce Social Gaming for Mobile users

Aircel has partnered with ibibo.com to introduce Social Gaming to Aircel subscribers. Aircel subscribers can play "Great Indian Parking Wars" on the Aircel Pocket Internet. Aircel and ibibo.com will soon increase the number of games users can play. Users can log on to these games using their Facebook ID or ibibo.com ID.

In Great Indian Parking Wars, users role play as owners of a street and they are encouraged to role play and do tasks along with their friends. Tasks further drive points for the users and hence a leader board that drives competition amongst friends. The key aspect here is that the social application acts as a catalyst for users to come back and pull friends to the social network every day. These games act as conversation starters and makes relationships in the social context more valuable.

Aircel and Balaji Telefilms Ltd launch Detective mobile series - Kriminal Kaun

Aircel and Balaji Telefilms Ltd announced the launch of India’s first ever Detective mobile series – Kriminal Kaun. This Interactive, Detective series, is introduced by New Media – the digital entity of Balaji telefilms Ltd.

Kriminal Kaun is a series of ‘audiosodes’, where Aircel users can subscribe to this service and listen to the stories in Hindi or Tamil. The stories will be realted to mystery be it murder, kidnap or robbery. There is a fresh series every week like - Crime in Fashion World, The Trap, Wedding Night Murder, etc.
